Hard hit to Dragon!

Shiya Muslims are in majority in Gilgit. But Pakistan has the majority of Sunni Muslims. Pakistan uses Gilgit-Baltistan regions to provoke India even though they hate Shiya Muslims. People with broader thoughts started separatism in Gilgit. People started campaigns to get separated from Pakistan. But Pakistan remained as it is. Then China made a deal with Pakistan in the name of ‘Economic Corridor’.

The historical decision taken by the Britain government in favour of India went almost unnoticed. Busy discussing the political matters of UP we did not discuss about the decision taken in favour of India at the global level. In fact, Pakistan had planned to declare Gilgit-Baltistan as it’s fifth frontier. But Bob Blackman; a politician of Conservative party in UK condemned Pakistan’s announcement. He also stated that capturing these regions of Kashmir is an illegal act of Pakistan. Construction of economic corridor and the way the people are treated is clearly against the human rights. Further he also debated that Kashmir must be reunited with India and the Britain parliament has agreed to his argument. India’s demand since decades has gained a global importance now.

Remember that, Gilgit-Baltistan are the largest land mass in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). British ruled this region with the help of King Hari Singh. This region gained importance to maintain the relationship with Russia. They had deployed an army unit named Gilgit scouts. They made the decision to divide India and then leave safely after World War 2. They took the Gilgit scouts back and retained Major Brown and Captain Mathius. During , independence King Hari Singh feared about the attack from Pakistan and signed the treaty to join India. This was the huge set back to Major Brown who wanted to make it go with Pakistan. He terminated the governor of Gilgit who was appointed by the King and handed over this region to Pakistan army chief. The Gilgit scout unit captured Baltistan and proceeded towards Ladhak. Meanwhile Indian army gave a strong opposition and had taken the control over the regions around Kargil. But Gilgit scouts had captured Gilgit-Baltistan. It was at the same time Nehru took this matter to an International level. United Nations ordered India to lessen the army force along the borders and Pakistan to get back from occupied regions of Kashmir. They had an intention of resolving the issue on the basis of referendum. India lessened the army force but Pakistan didn’t go back from the captured regions. They opposed this decision and demanded for a referendum. India stated that there shall not be any referendum unless Pakistan leaves the region that was captured illegally.

POK region lost it’s importance and fell weak. Pakistan neglected Gilgit-Baltistan region which resulted in zero development. This has the cultural reasons too.

China advertised that the Economic Corridor which connects China and Pakistan is a boon to Pakistan. China states that there shall be Hydro electric stations, Highways, Industrial areas, Important cities along the corridor from Kashgar to Gadwar port. They also state that it creates an employment opportunities to the large mass. These statements were enough to convince that China is in favour of Pakistan’s development. As the matter of fact China has a large advantage from this project. Instead of taking a long sea route they can get connected to western market easily via this corridor at a lower cost. This is the soul reason as to why they have invested 50 billion dollars. The only issue is that the corridor passes through the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Sindh-Baluchistan which are controversial.

Definitely, this project is very much dangerous to India. China can easily track the naval activity of India via Gadwar port. Pakistan can get the army support of China quickly. Hence Modi government took interest in developing Chabahar port. They took steps towards changing the mindset of people of POK towards India. People in POK felt jealous when PM himself took interest in resolving the flood issues and reconstructing Kashmir. Gilgit-Baltistan started to go against Pakistan since then. Sindh-Baluchistan also joined them in opposing Pakistan. Everyone started opposing knowing the fact that the Corridor project favours only Navaaz Shareef’s Punjab region. Campaigns for freedom started in regions of Sindh-Baluchistan. India made this movement grow stronger though it’s lobbies.

Yes, it is purely a diplomatic political game. Building a team inside the enemy nation against them with some lure is also a technique. It is similar to how China tries to play in India though JNU professors in the name of ‘Award Wapsi’. India has built a team in Pakistan which opposes the activities of China almost everywhere. Hence Pakistan tried to announce that Gilgit-Baltistan are the integral part of Pakistan and there by creating a ease to China for their activities. They also started to spread anti-Indian thoughts in those regions. It was in the same time where Modi’s diplomacy started working. It is due to his influence, England announced that Gilgit-Baltistan doesn’t belong to Pakistan and it is definitely an integral part of India. Another important incident to be noticed is that Donald Trump invited Modi to America. Now Pakistan has to really worry and China has to think about the loss of it’s prestige and billion dollars. It definitely needs time to recover from this jerk. It doesn’t mean they will remain silent. They will react and we need to be well prepared to respond.
